update June 2012:
The new LAKE RECORD Musky was caught Wednesday, May 30th by Larry Rafferty, Lees Summit, MO – 51 5/8. Check out the Trophy Memories section in the photo gallery for other great catches.

Fellows Lake was completed in 1955. The primary purpose of Fellows Lake is to impound water to supply Springfield with drinking water. This puts Fellows Lake Marina, near Springfield, Missouri, at the heart of a red-hot fishing industry. The lake is under the auspices of Springfield City Utilities and this 820 acre lake has provided local and visiting fishermen outstanding bass fishing, along with muskie, walleye, crappie and channel catfish. The lake has classic underwater timber and vegetation that provide ideal habitat for game fish. In fact, the Missouri Department of Conservation reconstructed habitat areas in recent years.

A City Utilities yearly permit is required to put a private boat on the lake. Obtain your yearly permit at Fellows Lake Marina. There is a motor size restriction of 40 horsepower. Use of the boat ramp and docks is limited – sunrise to sunset. In addition, there are picnic areas, pavilions, hiking trails and playground equipment.
Recreational activities must be limited to maintain the integrity of Springfield’s water supply. Wading and swimming are not permitted in Fellows Lake. Water skiing is permitting only at certain times and in specific areas. Hunting is managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation 417-895-6880
Fellows Lake is on U.S. 65, five miles north of Springfield, at Greene County Road AA.
